On
12 October 1969, a caller to Detroit radio
station WKNR-FM told disc jockey Russ Gibb about an
urban legend and its clues.
That can be considered the real start of the rumour’s
spread. The ‘evidences’ included album arts, cryptic messages which can be
heard on songs playing backwards. The subject of this, X poked fun at this by
naming one of his live album Y, parodying the urban legend.
